NR #7: Lock and Key (Sarah Dessen)

A seventeen years-old, Ruby Cooper, moved to live with her elder sister, Cora and her husband, Jamie, in North Carolina because her mother was addicted to drugs so she abandoned her. It wasn't easy to be in North Carolina at first because everything was new to her. New life, new house, new community. Ruby found herself out that she doesn't need people to care about her because she is already an adult, not a child anymore. But Ruby was deeply wrong. A next-door boy named Nate, which Ruby got a little attention on, explained to Ruby the reason why, however, Ruby didn't listen to what he said. Ruby hated her elder sister, Cora, because she left college and moved to North Carolina. Ruby predicted that she left because she didn't want to be with her family anymore. But that wasn't a good prediction after all, Cora was trying to help Ruby get reach of their mother because Cora doesn't want her sister to live with a mother that always drinking drugs and doesn't even mind about her children. Ruby didn't believe that and she thought bad about Cora. Months by months, Ruby had finally realized that she made a big misunderstanding with her sister because at that time, she understood that her sister was trying to protect her. Ruby soon came to realize that sometimes, in order to save yourself, you've got to reach out to someone else for helps and advices because you won't going to solve that conflict by yourself. This book brought to me many memories about my childhood life. I was kind of like Ruby because I didn't want anyone to bother in my business. Borrow this book right away because it will going to blow your mind out! Read and find out more about Ruby's life, the conflict that she made, and the advices that she learned.
