God, for everyone, is the one who is on the bright and peace side. God is the one who everyone could count on. However, that statement was wrong for the FAYz. God is the Darkness. NR#13: Lies (Gone series)

Seven months. Still. Gone. Hunger. Nothing change. Sam Temple is confused because he doesn't get his heart and he doesn't know if he still can handle being a leader of the FAYz (Fallout Adults Youth) anymore. On the other side, Caine, is surprised that his girlfriend, Diana, told him to give up on the war between himself and Sam. She told him that the hunger is gaining and all they need is food. If they keep fighting, things won't go well.
Orsay, a only girl who can talk to the FAYz's parents, had talked to Sam's mother and she knew where is she. Another person had disappeared, Francis. Nerezza, Orsay's twin, said that Astrid is using Howard and others to tell lies to trick Sam. However, Orsay, on the other hand, doesn't seem to be trustful with her twin's opinion.
Drake, the person who had been defeated by Caine and Sam, had came back from the death. Drake - the person who Sam fears of - had came back from the death to kill Sam. Things are going nowhere. No directions or instructions to follow. Astrid is now dealing with the Town Council; Sam against Drake. According to Drake, the only way to free the FAYz is the death. Kids are getting desperate. They still don't believe that death would let them to freedom. Obviously. They don't.
Will the statement be true? Will the death be the only key to unlock the freedom of the FAYz? Things are getting mixed-up. So many things to deal with. Especially for the FAYz. They are only kids or young adults. Too young to understand how hard it is. Read this book to find out what will happen to the FAYz? Will the freedom belong to them or the desperation?

NR#12: Dragon Rider

Firedrake, the dragon who was heard from a rat named Rosa, that the humans will try to eliminate all of the dragons by flooding their valleys. The eldest dragon of the group of dragons claimed that the only way to safe all of the dragons is heading to the great valley, the Rim of Heaven because he thinks that it is the only place that dragons can hide away from the humans. Firedrake took Sorrel, a brown cat, with him along the journey and Rosa suggested them to arrive to her cousin, Gilbert, to pick up the map.
Along the journey, they passed by the humans' towns. Suddenly, they caught the eyes of a boy named Ben. First, they were so frightened because they thought that he will kill them alive. However, Ben was so surprised that that was the first time he saw a dragon before. From there, Sorrel and Firedrake confirmed to take Ben as their company. They've finally got the map from Gilbert.
Now, they had to pass through many hostile environments to reach to the edge of the Rim of Heaven. There, they saw a Dragon's Cave and met a she-Dragon, Maia. Maia was the only dragon who is still living in the cave. The journey is still on. Times had passed. Will the group of friends make it to the Rim of Heaven or they just going to surrender? Will Firedrake let the human flood his valleys? What will happen to Ben if the humans find out that he is cooperating with the dragon to lead them to a safety place? Read this book and find out. Let the book turn you into a character in the book and let it bring you surprises. Love it and enjoy reading it like I did.

NR#9: Gone

I use many effects to make this image stand out a little bit. From your observation, you can see that I divided the picture into two sides. One is representing the good side (Sam and Astrid) and the other is representing the dark side (Diana and Caine). Caine and Sam are brothers but Sam hadn't noticed that before. They are having fight and many people died because Caine has been torturing them for making Sam surrender. Diana is on Caine's side because she is deeply fall on him so she would do everything for him, even die for him. Astrid is a kind teenager. She helps those children who has no parents beside because people from fifteen year-old above suddenly disappeared, include parents. So now the invasion is on. Winners? Losers? No one know.. Read and find out.

NR#8: Eragon

I love this book so much because it listed out some good traits of the main character. This book made me so into reading it because there were so many different conflicts that brought me into some different dimensional world. I used visualizing a lot while reading this book because I visualized the dragon and how it looks like. This book 2 days but each day, I read more than an hour to finish this book because I couldn't stop reading. This book brought me so many ideas of how to write a good adventurous novel to get the audiences' interests.
I used lots of textures and it became very messed up. I like how the author describes the setting in a very realistic way. I really love this book. I usually read about vampires and loves' books, but now, I challenged myself for an adventurous book and guess what? I love it so much <3

NR#7: Wake

NR#6: DemonGlass

I chose this kind of image because I think that all of the characters that I made all showed different traits that appear on their faces. Also, those kinds all have some styles of making them. If you want them to be adventurous or fancy, you can choose different outfits or hairstyles. For this, I chose an outfit of bravery and adventurous because Sophie was known as a wizard and she usually needs helps from people around her, but for me, inside of her heart, she is a brave girl. During the Hex Hall's Episode, Sophie had encouraged her friend to cheer up because everyone thought that she was a murder for killing three people.

NR#5: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Lord Voldermort had returned. Meanwhile, Dumbledore was being called to arrive Harry from his uncle and aunt's house and then both of them arrive to Weasley's house, Harry was getting stayed at there for the entire summer and he got to go to the same school with the family's daughter. Around that time, Harry and his friends got back their exam results. Harry got an excellent grade in Anti-Dark Arts, and five good grades which also included Transfiguration, Spells and Potions. Before heading to school , the group of friends were led to buy some furniture equipments at Diagon Alley and suddenly, they met with the Malfoys mother. Harry soon met the Minister of Magic, Rufus Scrimgeour, and was told to use his reputation to raise people up. But Harry regreted from doing that because Rufus was acting mean and cruel to Harry's headmaster, Dumbledore. Later on, Dumbledore was being controlled by Malfoy at the time when he found out the "Dark Mark". Harry was trying to fight against Snape and suddenly, he realized that Snape "is" the Half-Blood Prince (because his mother's last name is "Prince"). What will happen next between Harry fighting against the "Half-Blood Prince"? What will happen to the destiny of Dumbledore? Read now and find out the ending. I really like how J.K.Rowling wrote this book with many interesting adventures and magnificent conflicts. She used many synonyms and new vocabulary words to replace or to make the story sounds more excited. Read now and find out about the war between the legendary student, Harry Potter, against the Half-Blood Prince. Who will take the victory?

NR #4: Second Chance

I drew this picture on Paint.net. And as you can see, I'm not a magnificent artist like you guys. I'm a bad drawer and I'll never be a good one. I drew the main character, Holly, who was between 25-30 years old. She got a problem between her marriage with her husband because as her feeling, she felt that maybe they weren't meant to be with each other. Her husband, Marcus, seemed to be ignoring the family and just focusing on works. Holly felt very disappointed and she wondered that, "Is that love real?" I demonstrated her thinking in the picture.

NR #3: Max [Maximum Ride]

I tried to update the new style of making these kinds of image. Hope you won't bother, Miss Patrice?! ^^. I think I'm inlove with making these kinds of icon because it looks very special and professional. I made this character to look just similar to Max, the main character in the book. She is a brave teenager that always makes some decisions and responsibilities for the Flock. Once again, I putted lots of textures that I'd found on the Internet. For the font, I downloaded it and it was taking like 15 minutes to download that font. The website that I used was given by my friend, Pearl. She didn't own that website but I think that she helped me how to make these kinds of icon for this novel reflection. The reason I did this wasn't be showing off or being "I'm better and you're not". No way. I'm not doing that because of that saying. So please don't judge me for who I am if you're being like that saying above. For Miss Patrice, do you think these icons are good and what should I need to improve on?

NR #1: Hex Hall

Sophie found out that she is a witch on her 12th Birthday. That was a surprise for her but however, Sophie truly loved her magic and the way magic was being used. She was sent to a wizard school which was where she met three beautiful mean wizards who were the first 3 who made friends with Sophie. They told her that this school is full of faeries, wizards, etc. From one or two days later, there was a murder and the school suspected that the murderer was Sophie's roommate, Connie Talbot. Sophie was completely shocked about that because in her own eyes, Connie is a sweetest friend that she has ever met. Connie also said that she wasn't the murderer. The school was temporary believe in her. Sophie was in danger. Mostly all of the boys in her school were trying to kill her but luckily, she got protected by her friends. What will happen to Sophie at Hex Hall? Will she get what she wanted? Will she escape from what she is trying to do? Read it and find out what will happen next (:.

NR #12: Cosmic - Frank Cottrell Boyce

I think I'm in love with doing these kinds of icon because they fit with every single story. They have each personal mood and layouts. In this icon, the boy was Liam Digby, a 12-year-old boy in the story who thought that he is tall so he and other people would view him as some guy who was 30 years-old. The font that I used for the word "Cosmic" was from Dafont. Its name is "Electric". I tried another different style this time because I don't really want to repeat the same style that I did in the last two icons.

NR #11: Maximum Ride [School's Out - Forever] - James Patterson

NR #10: Life Swap - Jane Green

- I chose this choice because I've done 2 pictures that look like the one that I'm going to use this time. I felt like I addicted to those characters because they got a very perspective look. There are many customs that could be fit with the characteristic, the attitude of the character that I'm going to make. For this book, I'm going to make the main character, Vicky Townsley. She gave up on her marriage, her husband and even her kids. She didn't want to be marry at all because all she wanted was to be a successful woman. She worked for Poise! Magazine and she was a feature editor. Her main characteristic was hard-working because Vicky wouldn't easily give up on a point that she is focusing on. In this icon, Vicky was wearing long sleeves and white jeans because Vicky was an adult so the way she dresses would be more mature and polite. I tried to use more effects to glow the words "Successful..♥" but I think that I just failed it. I used Paint.net and Photoshop for this icon. They were the two installed-programs that I used while I was doing this blog post. ♥

NR #9: The Hunger Games {MockingJay} - Suzanne Collins

- I chose choice number 13. I just thought of the idea in my head that why can't I make a profile of Katniss (the main character in the book). I should use the skills that I usually use. Besides, I really love creating these kinds of icons/profiles. It seems kind of interesting and some are cute. But I think I don't really have that much talent to be a pro to make these kinds of arts. So.. the picture is about the scene when Katniss was getting ready for the games, the games that will lead her to her final destiny. I used many effects (glowing, sharpen,.. ) and the program that I used was Paint.net. I chose the idea to make the pictures blur behind the main picture because it would look very professional. So here is the picture that I created:

NR #8: Startling Moon - Liu Hong

A six-years-old girl named Taotao was sent to her grandparents' house to live for a while because she was being rude to her mother in front of the stage of her mother's company. When she was sent to her grandparents' house, Taotao was feeling like everything had changed ever since she had moved to a new living life. Everything was strange to her at first and for a few days, she began to feel in love with that place. When Taotao was twelve years-old, her parents arrived to Taotao's grandparents' house to pick Taotao up. They couldn't believe in their eyes that Taotao changed so fast. She wasn't a little kid anymore, but now, she had turned into a young adult, with the eyes as bright as stars, beautiful black-long hair grew behind Taotao's back. Taotao regretted to go home with her parents because she felt ashamed for them to leave her with her grandparents and plus, she had felt like this place is the place where she could call it "home". However, Taotao's grandparents told her that she has to move back to her real home which is her parents' house and she felt very upset. Taotao complained about her mother's cooking skills to her grandmother and her grandmother said, "You shouldn't say that because even though your mother's cooking skills isn't as good as mine but it's your mom's cooking skills so you need to appreciate it." Taotao was being silent for a bit and she walked back to her room. Once, she met a girl named "Lotus Blossom". Lotus Blossom's mother passed away because her mother caught cancer. She was deeply sad because her mother was the person who took care for her when she was a kid. Taotao suddenly felt that sometimes, in life, we need to love someone and we need to being grateful to that person because if someday, that person is gone, you would be very sad because you just lost them. Taotao was being a hot-tempered girl because she was treated so nicely from her parents so she became a rude girl. For my opinion, this book was extremely helpful because it told me more about the past which I was being mad at my mother and now, I suddenly feel like that was the biggest mistake that I've ever done. Read this book now because you will be surprise about the morals that you'd learned from this book ^w^.

NR #5: Blue Moon [The Immortals] - Choice 2

I've finished the book "Blue Moon" in the collection of "The Immortals" and it was written by Alyson Noel. My friend, Jenny (Block 7A Language Arts) introduced me this collection of Alyson Noel. I read the book "Evermore" and I've found out this episode was very interesting because it contained many exciting scenes that you won't want to miss it. This episode is about Ever was having a crush on Damen and she've killed Damen's ex-wife, Drina, because she loved Damen so much. Damen made Ever immortal just like him. One day, a new kid named Roman came to their school and he poisoned Damen because he planned to kill him and Ever. Damen forgot who Ever is and he began to date a girl named Stacia which is making his power weakening. Ever went on a journey to Summerland to find out the secrets of Damen and her family who got killed by an accident. But Ever could only choose one of them. She decided to choose Damen because she didn't want him to die because of her. Ever met Roman and she saw Damen is lying on a bed, fainter and fainter. Ever cried and told Roman to kill her instead because she doesn't want Damen to die. Roman said that he needs Ever's one blood's drop to make a medicine that could help Damen. Ever stared at Damen and she saw he was breathing hardly and suddenly, he stopped breathing. She ran toward him and cried so hard. The tears was running down on her face and suddenly, it made Damen came awake again. Roman was so angry so he disappeared in the dark light. Damen was awaken but luckily, he forgot all of the bad things which happened and fortunately, he remembered his love, Ever, again. This is a very meaningful book to me and I'd recommend you to read it. It would blow your mind out!

The rose that grew from concrete - Answers

1. What is concrete? Explain, using imagery, what it looks, feels, smells, tastes and sounds like.
- A concrete is something that people use to put on houses to make it solid. But it is very disgusting and people walk on it and spit on it. It shows no beauty on it.
2. What is a rose? Using imagery to explain it.
- A rose is a kind of flower that use to represent love and beauty. It has a wonderful smell and people usually use it to decorate their houses or put them in vases.
3. What is the tone of this poem?
- It sounds kind of making people think that even though we are not as beautiful as others, but we will still try to be equal to them.
4. What is the message of the poem?
- The message of the poem is even though they view ourselves as something that really disgusting like a concrete, but we will still try to be better and making our beauty gains up. Nothing can stop us from believing in ourselves like the rose in the poem.
5. What figurative language does the poet use?
- Tupac uses the figurative language called "metaphor" and "imagination" because he viewed the rose as someone who is very beautiful and the concrete as someone who is very ugly. He uses both of these objects to represent the saying that even though we are ugly but we will still have a chance to keep moving forward.

Stronger - Kelly Clarkson (What Doesn't Kill You)

I chose this song because it told me everything. I think that this song told me that we need to stand up on everything, even though that we tried and it couldn't help. However, we still need to try again to make it perfect because life isn't about giving up on something that we think that we can't be able to handle on. Being stronger won't kill you but it would make you be more confident and to face what you need to face.

[Quarter3] N R #2 - Ginger Pye

I've finished a book called "Ginger Pye". It was a very interesting book if you love dogs. I love how the author told the story. It hooked me in many parts of the story. The book was about a puppy named Ginger Pye. He was a friendly and smart puppy, however, he was kind of hyperous sometimes. Unfortunately, at the late of Thanksgiving, Ginger was suddenly missing. It was quite a big shock for Jerry Pye, the closest owner of Ginger Pye. Jerry and his family took the entire night searching and looking for him. They asked all of the neighbors that they know, but the answer is no. After a few days, they found out that there is a guy named Wally Bullwinkle who had kidnapped their puppy. Well, Ginger wasn't a puppy anymore but he is now a fabulous Ginger Pye, a grown man. I really love this story! Borrow it if you like because I returned this book.

The Awakening

Chloe Saunders awakens after her foiled escape attempt to find herself once again in the clutches of the Edison Group – betrayed by her supposedly loving Aunt, Chloe, Rae and Tori are subject to the whims of their mysterious doctor captives. Derek and Simon are still at large, however, and Chloe takes solace in the fact that at least two of her friends are beyond the reach of the nefarious group. In a new facility, Dr. Davidoff attempts to rehabilitate the remaining adolescents, telling Chloe that her fears and mistrust of himself and the other doctors is misplaced – that they are only there to help Chloe and the others get better. However, Chloe isn’t buying, and with the ghostly help of Liz. She makes a horrifying discovery about the group, their experiments, and what exactly it is that they want from Chloe and her friends. When Dr. Davidoff appeals to Chloe for help finding Derek and Simon (under the guise that Simon is a diabetic who forgot his daily insulin and could be in dire straits), she seizes the opportunity to run…with only a small complication. Rae, pyromancer and supposedly Chloe’s friend, decides that she likes the Edison Group and eats up the stories they tell her. What’s worse, the jealous cheerleader type Tori tags along with Chloe for their daring runaway. On the road, Chloe and Tori finally are reunited with Derek and Simon, but it is a constant struggle to stay a step ahead of the Edison goons and to stay alive. Together they make a stab for help from Derek and Simon’s family friend, but face a multitude of obstacles on the way to safety. And, all the while, each of their powers – especially Chloe’s necromancy skills – are growing in strength. It was the first awesomest book that I've ever read in this quarter. It has a really perspective description about the plot and the characters. I really did enjoyed reading this :D

Don't call me Ishmael : Novel Reflection :D

Ishmael Sydrome was the name that Ishamael's parents named him from the first day that he was born. He was a fourteen years old boy. At the first day of school, he got bullied by a bully named Barry because of his name. Barry teased him everytime at school however, Ishmael tried to avoid Barry and acted invisible but swears to stand up to Barry in Year Nine. His Year Nine teacher, Miss Tarango, tells the whole class about the name Ishmael coming from Moby-Dick, which gives Barry and his friends more names to tease Ishmael with. One day, Ishmael saw Barry and other boys were bullying a new boy named James Scoobie because of his appearance. However, James stood up on them and told the entire class community that that he is fearless because he had a brain tumour that damaged the part of his brain that feels fear. Barry is the only person that does not believe James. About a week later Barry puts a lot of insects and spiders in James's desk, but James is not frightened. During a rugby match James's fearlessness changes the course of the game. Sooner, James and Ishmael became close friends :) This story was really interesting and awesome to be read. It helped me to learn a really immortal moral: When we get bullying, we should always stand up and fight against them.
